Donni Engelhart, CFA, ASA, CVA is a Managing Director at Tucker & Meltzer leading the firm’s Corporate and Fair Value Reporting practice areas. With over twelve years of experience in providing business valuation advisory services, Donni has performed hundreds of business and asset valuations across a range of industries, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, consumer retail, construction, specialty trade contracting, engineering, government contracting, software, information technology, social media, transportation and logistics, professional services, environmental services, foodservice, manufacturing, industrial fabrication, industrial supply, energy retail & wholesale, gaming and entertainment, and entities holding investment assets.
Investment company assets have included portfolios of marketable securities, illiquid equity securities, private equity and hedge fund interests, and real estate properties such as hotels, data centers, shopping malls, self-storage facilities, marinas, and raw land. Subject securities have included common stock, preferred stock, stock options and warrants, debt securities, and intangible assets. In addition to business appraisals, Donni has issued numerous financial opinions, including fairness, solvency, and adequate consideration opinions for privately-held companies in connection with dividend recapitalizations and employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) transactions. His valuations and financial opinions have been provided for a variety of purposes, including transaction support, financial reporting, ESOPs, S corporation conversions, shareholder disputes, equity-based compensation, recapitalizations, and purchase price allocations, as well as estate, gift, and income tax.
Donni holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute, the Accredited Senior Appraiser designation from the America Society of Appraisers (ASA), and the Certified Valuation Analyst designation from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA). He is a member of The ESOP Association as well as the National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO). Donni also belongs to the Baltimore and Howard County Estate Planning Councils and the Maryland Chapters of the Exit Planning Exchange (XPX), the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), and NACVA. Donni is a graduate of the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
